Srinivasa Sastri Hall in Luz comes back to life with concert

Srinivasa Sastri Hall in Luz has been off limits for a long period of time, having got into a legal tangle since this property is on  lease from the HR & CE department  and privately managed.

It has come alive once again.

On Saturday, at an event got up to remember mridangam vidwan Palghat Mani Iyer, Chennai Fine Arts bestowed an award on senior mridangam artiste Neyveli Narayanan. Dr S. Sowmya was the chief guest.

Later, Sowmya presented a themed concert.

A goodly number of rasikas attended.

Once the legal issue was sorted out, the management of this hall had to get it in shape. It is again offered on rent for public events and concerts.

The Ranade Library on the ground floor has been open since a long time though this place was also sealed because of rental issues.
