Church choirs take part in contest at CSI Saint Thomas Tamil Church

As part of the 165th anniversary celebrations of CSI Saint Thomas Tamil Church in San Thome, a singing competition was conducted on November 25 evening in the church.

Seven teams from different parishes took part in this event.

It was organised under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Dr. Y. Sailas Gnanadas and the Pastorate Committee led by Secretary Dr. Esther Jebaraj and Treasurer Samuel Swamikkan..
The youth group of the parish too lent a helping hand
The teams were given the theme of- Melody under the Cross, three weeks ago and they composed songs based on this theme.
Two judges were invited to judge this competition –  Dinesh from Galilee Academy in San Thome and Pearline Roopkumar from Octet Cantabile. Handsome cash prizes were awarded to the winners.
CSI St. Georges Cathedral team sang their way to the first prize of Rs 10000. CSI Saint John the Baptist Church from Egmore bagged the second prize of Rs 5000 while CSI Church of Christ the King won the third prize of Rs 3000.
