Chennai School boy battling cancer seeks donations for post-surgery care

Here is an appeal for financial support for a school boy who cannot afford the costly but critical medical treatment.

Mehdi Usen, a 10-year-old student from Chennai High School, Eldams Road Vannia Teynampet, has been battling liver cancer. Doctors have recommended a corrective surgery, and with the generosity of many kind-hearted individuals, the school  has successfully raised Rs.2 lakhs for the initial procedure.

The school Headmistress, Revathy has emailed Mylapore Times to say that an additional Rs.5 lakhs rupees is needed for post-surgery care and ongoing treatment.

This boy is currently receiving treatment at Rela Institute, Chromepet.

Mehdi’s single mother, Sajeda Khatoon, has been taking care of three children, including a 5 year old and a 4-year-old .
