Over 1000 people gathered around the flag staff inside Sri Kapali Temple on Saturday morning (March 16) to participate the signal launch event for the temple’s annual Panguni uthiram festival.
Rituals had begun before dawn broke and by then, devotees who love to be close to the daily events, had gathered here.
Around 7 a.m. the flag standard was hoisted, signalling the start of this grand festival.
