The alumni of Rosary Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, San Thome’s carnival – Alumera – is on July 26 – in line with the platinum jubilee celebrations of the school.
Sr Maria Selvi, regional superior, Sr Amala, correspondent and Sr Vensi Sahayarani, principal are expected to be present.
The event will start by 9.30 am and will go on till 7 pm.
Eminent alumni are to be felicitated and the list includes N. Ram, N. Murali, N. Ravi, Rhoda David, Dr Nalini Ramamurthy, Dr Manjula Krishnaswamy, Dr Vanamala Parthasarathy, Dr P P Bapsy, Charumathi Ramachandran, B. Bhamathi, Sumathi Iyer, Preetha Reddy, Suneeta Reddy, Pushpa Kandaswamy, Maheshwari Natarajan, Sangita Shroff, Shobana Kamineni, Geetha Ravichandran, Sangita Reddy and Revathy Ramachandran.
In the morning, there will be choir, dance and a narration of the school history in an audio-visual form. Audio messages from the 1950 (founder batch) students will be played. 10.30 am onwards, there will be dance, songs, jukebox play and fun activities by the alumni in the quadrangle.
“The valedictory starts around 5 pm – cultural programmes including three rounds of fashion show, two rounds of Retro and a final round with a celebrity alumni ramp walk,” says Matengi S. Suresh, one of the organisers.
Stalls for games and food and for merchandise ( home décor, T-shirts and ceramics) will be set up. “We have a Polaroid photo booth for guests to capture moments with friends and family,” adds Matengi.
Entry to the show for alumni is through registration. Alumni who have not registered yet can spot register: for others an entry fee of Rs 30 is charged.
The entry to the campus will be through Papanasam Sivan Salai and the exit through San Thome High Road. Parking is available at St Raphael’s School campus.
