The terraced, tiled space of a residence on Warren Road will host a chamber dance concert on April 15. The place is called Mylapore Maadi.
Performing Bharatanatyam this evening are artistes Kausalya Srinivasan, Priya Dandapani, Uma Sathya Narayanan, Vidya Anand and Vijay Madhavan, dancing to the vocal music of Kaushik Champakesan.
The event encourages people from all walks of life to enjoy dance.
This place is owned and run by Kausalya Srinivasan, a Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, a Fulbright scholar and a senior fellow in dance from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
“This is the first such programme at my own space where I have been teaching dance for decades,” said Kausalya.
The event will start at 6 pm and end by 8 p.m. Since the space is limited, registration is a must. Mail – [email protected]. Admission is free.
A tip to seniors – the stairs to the top floor of the venue are steep, there is no lift.
