Katharoo Fest is a story-telling festival for children that will be held on August 1 and 2 at Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Snr. Secondary School in Mylapore.
The events include story-telling, puppetry and workshops.
The theme this year is ‘Our Earth, Our Responsibility, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle’.
The workshops will offer DIY sessions where children and adults can learn to create something useful with easily available materials. There will also be a weaving workshop to learn to make a small mat.
A pop up thrift stall with lots of interesting items on sale will be an attraction. You can bring anything that you don’t use, old books, clothes, plastic cans, bottles and newspapers to this event.
The entry ticket for the festival is ₹500 for one parent and one child. Proceeds from the tickets will be used for social causes.
