Aashada Navarathri celebrations held on grand scale at Mylai Sri Varaki Amman Temple

Aashada Navarathri celebrations were held at Mylai Sri Varaki Amman Temple, located on Professor Sanjeevi Street, Mylapore (near Karneeswar Koil Street), Mylapore.

The festival is a significant spiritual and cultural event that attracts a large number of devotees from Chennai and the surrounding areas, said Thiyagarajan Periyachi, temple vizha committee of this temple

The celebrations included special poojas, homams, daily alangarams, devotional music, and various religious rituals dedicated to Sri Varaki amman.

On July 15, the fstival commenced with panthakal naduthal, followed by Sri Vinayagar pooja.

From July 16 to 23, special poojas and alangarams wereb held daily as part of the nine-day Navarathri celebrations.

On July 24 evening, the grand finale of Sri Varaki Amman kalyana utsavam. A large number of people participated, mainly women.
