Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Symphony hosted a grand Onam festival celebration for all clubs of District 323 at Raga Sudha Hall, Luz on August 19.
About one hundred women participated in the event, all of them dressed in the traditional Kasavu sari. A pookalam was designed in the hall and some women danced to traditional music, which is a part of the Onam celebration.
It was also an occasion for members to connect with those from other Inner Wheel Clubs of the city.
The highlight was the elaborate and authentic Onam Sadhya mean which was served to all the guests.
Club president Prabha Ramesh had planned this event to be a plastic-free one. Water and sweets were served in steel glasses and steel bowls, and hand towels replaced paper napkins.
