Madras Day 2026; Students of architecture present their projects focussed on city streets

Teams from MEASI School of Architecture, Mohamed Sathak Academy of Architecture and Papni School of Architecture were awarded prizes for impressing with their projects for an event held in connection with Madras Day 2026 celebrations.

Nine teams of students of architecture signed up for this project which required them to choose a bunch of streets in any area in the city and study them – the architecture, public spaces and people’s use of them.

All the teams presented their study in multimedia format.

Teams studied areas like NSC Bose Road and streets of George Town, of Thiruvanmiyur and of Mylapore.

Architect, urban designer and educator T. Vennila judged the presentations and offered ideas and posed questions.

This event was held at Ranade Library in Luz and the space was provided by South India National Association (SINA).
