Madurai Mani Iyer Rasikas Association is conducting a guided listening session of Carnatic music maestro Madurai Mani Iyer on Sunday, August 16, 4.15 pm onwards at Ganamrutha Hall, 15, Sambandam Street, off Devanathan Street, Mandaveli.
The maestro’s recorded music from private archives will be played.
Open to all rasikas.

I am one of the attendees of this event. Unline what was advertised the event did not begin at least until 4:45 PM, at which point my daughter and I chose to leave the venue. One of the office bearer announced the chief guest is on the way. I think I did see the chief guest on my way out talking to someone in his cell phone. This kind of apathy and unaccountability should be called out and is contrary to what is needed to restore the already dwindling rasikas.
