Mylapore Heritage Walk for seniors. Free. Aug.9 morning

To mark Madras Day celebrations for 2026, a celebration to remember the city and its good and its history, two Mylaporeans have planned a Heritage Walk in Mylapore on Sunday, August 9 morning.

This Walk is primarily meant for senior citizens but their families are welcome to join.

K. R. Jambunathan and Sridhar Venkataraman will lead the Walk, They will share all the stories they know of every nook on the route. Participants must assemble at a point opposite the Mylapore Police Station on Kutchery Road.  The Walk starts at 7 a.m. They group will stop at about 9 points on the chosen route, ending near Sri Madhava Perumal Temple zone.

The event is free. It will last for about 90 minutes. Prior registration is not required. For details on all Madras Day events go to www.themadrasday.in
