The department of chemistry of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College (autonomous), Mylapore, has launched an eight-day “Campus to Corporate – Communication Skills and Personality Development
Programme” for M.Sc. ( chemistry) students.
The goal is simple – train these students in skills that make them stand out when they seek employment and make an impression at their workplace – since these skills are currently poor.
Sponsored by Tagros Chemicals India and the 1975 B.Sc. chemistry golden jubilee batch, the programme is being conducted by CommSkool Pvt. Ltd.
College secretary Swami Dhyanagamyananda, Dr. M. Ramakrishnan, college principal and Dr. B. Ganesh Babu, HoD ( chemistry) were present at the launch.
Abhijit Bose, executive president and COO, Tagros Chemicals India was the chief guest.
Priyanka Saha, founder, CommSkool, outlined the programme – the training will comprise three-hour sessions over eight days, covering communication, inter-personal skills and personality development.
Dr. N. Rajasekar, alumnus of the 1975 B.Sc. chemistry golden jubilee batch and co-sponsor of the programme, recalled his student days and his transition from Tamil-medium schooling to English-medium college
education and the importance of communication skills.
