Ashvita’s art gallery is currently exhibiting artworks on the theme – Madras: Between Tradition & Modernity.
States a note from the gallery – Bringing together a considered selection of works from the 19th and 20th centuries, the exhibition traces the changing cultural, social and artistic landscape of Madras through photography, portraiture, painting and objects of material culture.
The exhibition looks at the city not simply as a place, but as an evolving idea — remembered, represented and lived across generations, the note adds.
