Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher Padmalaksshme Suresh’s Padmalaya School of Bharatanatyam is celebrating its silver jubilee with a year-long series of events.
The celebrations will commence with Sri Lalithaa Ranga Padmam, a special curtain raiser, featuring performances by the junior and senior students of Padmalaya School on Friday, October 9, 6 p.m. onwards at Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet.
The curtain raiser will be graced by Deva, film music director and B. Hemanathan, deputy director, TN department of art & culture.
The programme will bring together 72 students of Padmalaya in a special presentation marking the institution’s 25-year journey.
Padmalaksshme Suresh’ will also use the occasion to pay tributes to her guru Ranganayaki Jayaraman.
The Padmalaya 25 plans for the year will feature 25 activities across the silver jubilee year, including performances, workshops, lecture-demonstrations and cultural events.
