On Saturday night, a power supply cable burst near the Chitrakulam zone. It was a localised flare. Power snapped in areas like Soliappan Street , Chitrkulam North Street and Sannithi Street. People had to endure the darkness.
A TANGEDCO team rushed to the site to tackle the issue. Workmen were seen at the ‘cable burst’ site at dawn on Sunday. They were at work despite a drizzle.
One engineer said they will try to set right the issue with a cable joint or they will lay a new cable that is needed to address the issue.
The ADE of TANGEDCO’s San Thome zone, Paramasivam visited the site and directed the workers. The power supply is expected to be restored by Sunday noon.
