Buff, a ice-cream parlour and cake shop on Bheemana Road, Alwarpet has been sealed and the business has ceased.
This follows action taken by Greater Chennai Corporation after the business was denied a Food and Traders Licence.
One local resident said that an objection was raised that a business could not be run in what was a primary residential area.
