An ICHR sponsored national seminar on ‘Popular uprisings in India – with special reference to Tamil Nadu – 1750 – 1857’ and an exhibition on ‘1857 and before – revolts and uprisings’ will be inaugurated by Y. Sudershan Rao, chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi on Jan 9. N. Rajendran, head, dept. of history, Bharatidasan University will deliver the keynote address. Prof. G. Venkataraman, former head, dept. of history, University of Madras is the chief guest for the valedictory function to be held on Jan 10 at 4 p.m. At C. P.
