Carols are an integral part of the season of Christmas. And carol concerts have begun to happen in parishes in the Mylapore-San Thome area.
At Our Lady of Guidance Church in R. A. Puram, the youth group hosted the very popular carols contest for church choirs.
The 24th edition of ChrisCar which invites groups from city churches to sing Thamizh carols was held on December 1 evening in the church campus hall on Lazarus Church Road.
The first prize was bagged by the choir of Holy Cross Church, T Nagar. The second place went to Mary Help of Christians Church team from Basin Bridge and the third prize was won by Don Bosco Church choir of Ayanavaram.
On Dec.8 evening, teams of the Basic Christian Community groups of this parish had their own carols contest (photo here is of this event). The English choir of the church will be singing carols on Dec.15 at 7 pm.
