Two Mylapore school teams in semifinals of TNCA tourney

Two school cricket teams of Mylapore are in the semifinals of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) under 16 tournament.

The semifinals will be played on Jan.25.

Chettinad Vidyashram and Santhome Hr. Sec. Schools have qualified for the semifinals of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association under-16 cricket team.

Chettinad beat Don Bosco, Egmore. Don Bosco scored 175 for 9, Chettinad 176 for 4 in 46 overs.

The Chettinad stars were Samruddh Bhat with 3 wickets, M. Siddharth with 2 wickets and Karthik Arvind with 2 wickets. Shyam Sundar took 55 runs and K. R. Abishek took 32 runs.

Santhome beat New Prince (A. M. Jain ‘A’). New Prince scored 72 all out, Santhome 73 for 5 in 13 overs.

The Santhome starts were Vishal Vaidhya with 4 wickets and Ravi Kumar with 3 wickets. C. Karthik took 38 runs.

St. Bede’s team however lost in the quarter final to PSBB, K. K. Nagar on Friday.

St. Bede’s scored 204 runs in the allotted 50 overs. In reply PSBB scored 208 runs for the lost of 6 wickets in 48 overs.
