The Boat Club area is a popular destination for fitness conscious people who live in this neighborhood. The walkers here also have an informal group and on Saturday, August 31 morning the group hosted a Madras Week event at the Boat Club.
Historian and writer Narasiah was the key speaker, sharing the story of how Madras and Chennai came be over the last 400 years.
Former senior advertisement executive of The Hindu, V Kalidas and activist Naina Shah also spoke, sharing their experiences of the city.
Dr R Velu, former union minister presided. The event was co ordinated by Dr Subas Chandra Bose, Dr E Muralidharan and Sadhana Srinivasan.
