Voter registration camps in two areas on Sunday

There is still time to register for a new Voter Card or get a correction made in the old one.

Responding to the Chief Electoral Officer’s call for TN100Percent, a locally-based NGO, Thuvakkam is pushing its own voter registration drive in Mylapore area. It says it has enrolled over 300 voters till now apart from creating awareness on this issue.

Now, the NGO is joining hands with community bodies – Thiruveethi Amman Koil Street TAKSRA and MRC Nagar Residents Association – help people register afresh or get corrections made.
“These bodies showed interest and so, this Sunday we will be organising voter registration camps for them,”says a NGO member.

People from elsewhere can also head to these camp venues and get their job done.

“We encourage people with internet access to enrol themselves using the detailed instructions and demo videos at http://www.chennainext.com, ” says the NGO member. He says that the NGO can also train leaders of local associations on how to get the job done.
