Siblings present mikeless kutcheri at Nageswara Rao Park, Luz

Mikeless kutcheri at the parkAs part of the monthly ‘Kutcheri in the park’, organised by Sundaram Finance, a brother- sister duo – 14 year old Kavya Sridhar and 12 year old Aditya Sridhar presented a lively one hour mikeless kutcheri on Sunday, June 5 at Nageswara Rao Park, Luz.

Both are students of guru Seethalakshmi. Aditya also learns music from guru O.S. Thyagarajan. They were accompanied by Ramya Srinivasan (student of guru poorna prajna) on the violin and A. Rohith (student of guru Thiruvarur Bakthavathsalam) on the mridangam.

P. Viswanathan, company secretary, Sundaram Finance presented the certificates and mementoes to the artistes.

No mikes and speakers are used at the kutcheri. Organised on the first Sunday of every month, this event provide opportunities to children aged below 15 years to present in front of an informal park audience amidst chirping birds and falling leaves.

Over 1000 children have presented kutcheris at the park since its launch in Feb 2006. Sundaram Finance conducts audition to select the artistes.
