Every year, the night before the Adikara Nandi is taken out on a procession, a special pooja is organised by the Thandarai Vaidhyar family. The members of this family donated the silver kavacham in the year 1917, this year was the 101st celebration of that event.
On March 23, several devotees gathered at the temple for a dance performance by Sugathan, the secretary of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation. The Mylapore Trio who run this foundation have been closely associated with the family for decades.
