The metro rail workers started Geotechnical Investigation (soil testing) at Luz church road on Feb 18.
It is carried out for the corridor 4 of Chennai Metro rail’s phase 2 project.
The corridor 4 from Lighthouse to Poonamallee will pass through Foreshore estate – Kutchery road – Thirumayilai metro – Alwarpet – Bharathidasan road – Adyar Gate Jn.
As a part of it, a station is planned on this road near Sri Anjaneya Temple.
“The drilling work will start from tomorrow (Feb 19) . Soil testing will be done at every 1.5 meters interval,” says a metro rail worker who was at the site.
