Cable fault reported at Alwarpet on early Thursday morning now rectified, says TANGEDCO’s area engineer

At around 2.30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug 7, residents of the Alwarpet area reported a disruption of power for about 15 minutes. That was due to a cable fault, says TANGEDCO’s area engineer in charge of the Alwarpet, Luz and Mylapore areas.

He says, “Power was restored in about 15 minutes through back feeder supply. There was a power interruption at 8 feeders attached to the substation at Visalakshi Thottam as a result of which many areas in Alwarpet including C. P. Ramaswamy Road, T. T. K. Road, Abhiramapuram 1st to 4th Streets, East Abhiramapuram, Warren Road and parts of Mandaveli lost power”.

He adds that the cable fault was fixed on Thursday night and power has been switched back on to the regular supply mode.
