Our Lady of Visitation Church at St. Mary’s Road, R.A.Puram, that is the parish to the Catholics in R. A. Puram and Abhiramapuram zone reopened recently.
Holy Mass is celebrated daily and on Sundays.
Thamizh Masses are held at 6.30 am on all weekdays (Monday to Saturday). On Sundays, three Thamizh Masses (6.30 am, 8 am, 9.30 am) are celebrated.
Says a member of the parish, “Prior to the pandemic lockdown, we use to hold only two Masses (one in Tamizh and one in English) on Sundays. Now, in accordance with the regulations, we are holding three Masses on the weekend.”
The English Mass that was said on Sunday is now held on Saturday evening.
Usage of masks and hand sanitisers have been made compulsory for all worshippers. Also, to ensure social distancing, only two people are asked to sit on a bench.
The church will also be open for private prayer for the public between 5.30 am and 12 pm and from 4.30 pm and 8 pm.
