There seems to have been a quick change in the pandemic time SOPs concerning temples.
First, the state order was that temples must close at 8 p.m. and so did the staff at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore on April 10, Saturday.
Later that night, the state said that temple can close later in the night. So a temple officer said this morning that Sri Kapali Temple will close it gates only after the 9;30 pm puja.
Temple officials here say they insist people wear masks and sanitise; though the SOPs were strictly followed in late 2020, the Panguni fest saw huge gathering in March in and outside this popular temple.
