The HR&CE Department has launched a comprehensive project to record and database all lands and properties belonging to state-managed temples.
This project was formally launched on Sept.8 on the banks of the tank of Sri Kapali Temple and the state minister overseeing this department, P. K. Sekarbabu, officials and Mylapore MLA were present.
The minister was shown how teams will be use modern equipment for this huge project.
Using DGPS-RTK rovers from the Revenue Department, staff would undertake the assignment. Over 200 licensed surveyors have been contracted for this job.
The HR&CE Department is actively pursuing cases of retrieval of its properties and some action has also been seen in the Mylapore zone.
