They may not be all over the neighbourhood but they are busy in the shopping hubs – the fire cracker shops.
And for those who must make some light and sound for the festival, they will have to shell out much more than before.
The good news is that most shops offer you green fire crackers.
At a shop located on R K Mutt Road, Mylapore opposite the temple tank, salesmen laid out all the green fire cracker boxes.
“They are also novel in nature, bursting up in the sky in new colours,” the salesman said.
The boxes cost Rs400 upwards and carry the ‘green’ tag too. We are assured they are genuinely ‘green’.
Sales though are slow than steady but could well pick up on the weekend and next week.
