It has been very quiet this Sunday at Mylapore’s temples: lockdown

Rekindling memories from the lows of the first and second wave, even the people who visit temples every day, sun or rain, were missing this ‘lockdown’ Sunday morning.

Such were the scenes at three temples in Mylapore on Sunday morning on the first full day curfew relating to the third wave.

On Friday and Saturday, devotees stood outside and prayed the raja gopuram of Sri Kapali Temple.
But this Sunday morning, at Kapaleeswarar, Srinivasa Perumal and Kesava Perumal temples, the temple zones wore a deserted look.
However, in these three temples, priests were present as usual to perform the morning pooja.
