Children who are being coached in table tennis at the Mylapore Sports Trust excelled at a recent table tennis tourney held on Republic Day at a city school.
Some of them won in various categories for which matches were held at the Chennai district level. Some made it to the top level.
These were the children who were either winners or got to the top bracket – N. Srishti ( Vidya Mandir), S S Mayashri ( Children’s Garden), K. Mukundh ( P. S. Matric), Akash Rajavelu ( St. Mary’s), Arun Karthik ( St Bede’s), Nitish (NIOS) and S. Dev ( P. S. Matric).
The coaches who supervise the training are Srinivasa Rao, Muralidhar Rao and Meenakshi. Coaching goes on at a centre in Karpagambal Nagar, Luz.
