Minister launches Navaratri festival at Sri Kapali Temple

The state minister for Hindu temple affairs, Sekar Babu led a formal launch of the weeklong Navaratri celebrations this evening at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore.

Joining Babu was Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu. The duo symbolically carried the ambal in a colourful palaquin in procession.

A series of religious-cultural programmes have been scheduled here.

The Navaratri kolu has also been set up.

The temple had a bright, colourful look past dusk, when the common lighting was switched on. There was a steady stream of people too despite the evening shower.

  1. Hon’ble HR &CE minister Mr. Sekar Babu is really fantastic on his job. Very simple, sincere and gave full satisfaction for religious people by doing capable work. Fortunately our Mylapore MLA is also equally fine with his activities.
