Fogging operations on in colonies as cases of dengue, malaria are on the rise

Civic workers are doing the rounds of dense colonies in Mylapore zone, out on fogging operations following reports of an increase in cases of dengue and malaria.

The local GCC medical centres have reported a small increase in these cases following the monsoon breakout.

Civic staff are also visiting colonies and telling people not to keep outside, receptacles and waste items like used tyres, bins and dabhas that hold rain water which will encourage breeding of mosquitoes.
