For the first time, the counting of donations made by people in various hundials at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple has been made transparent by beaming live and online the whole process.
This process which started this Tuesday morning at the Navaratri mantapam was being shot on cameras and webcast on the websites of the temple and of HR&CE Department.
HR&CE minister P Sekar Babu was present, as was Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu. Babu had announced this process a day ago when he was here for an event.
Dozens of volunteers are at hand to count the notes and coins and the process will go on for a few hours.
