The Adyar river will witness a series of competitive boat races for the next few days as the 79th edition of the regatta championship gets underway.
This is the ARRE – FEARA Regatta and it will go on till January 21 and features eight clubs including one from Singapore.
The formal inauguration took place at the Madras Boat Club in R. A. Puram this evening where all teams taking part in this sports meet were present. ( photo featured here)
Races will take place 7 a.m. onwards. The Chennai Commissioner of Police will be the chief guest at the prize distribution event on January 21 evening.
