The Womens Day event got up recently on a playground in Pattinapakkam was a big day for the girls who are trained by Suresh Memorial Foot Ball Academy here.
The girls were given jerseys, trousers and stockings. These were sponsored by Thiruvalluvar Vidyashram in Perungudi.
Local area ward councillor Amirda Varshini ( Congress) and DMK leaders, Ko Kannan and Murali, of this zone were present.
33 girls and a few small boys received the sports gear, said Nirmal of the academy.
These girls and boys are coached on the ground that is located on land of TN Housing Board, off Marina Loop Road.
