There are mini IPL leagues that are now hosted in neighbourhoods.
We came across one in the heart of Mylapore.
On Saturday, as the sun set beyond the trees of the playground alongside P. S. Hr. Sec. School off R. K. Mutt Road, the final over was being bowled of the day.
This was day one of the Mylapore T20 cricket tourney, and most teams are from this zone.
Players of each team sported their brand of uniform coloured clothing for the matches. Flags were erected all around the play area on the boundary line and shamiana tents set up for the organiser, announcer and host and guests.
Players here said the matches will continue on Sunday.
