Chennai Metro contract teams have set up barricades on Mandaveli Street – from the Mandaveli Post Office end at the junction of R. K. Mutt Road to a point near a small Sri Ayyappa Temple on this street.
All the street hawkers who had been in business for many years here have been cleared.
But it is not clear what will be the nature of the work by Chennai Metro in the weeks to follow.
Unconfirmed buzz indicates that the Metro’s Mandaveli station will be located in this zone.

I thought the Mandaveli stop was coming near the Mandaveli Bus Terminus. Has that been changed now?
