The Panguni festival brings to life Sri Kapali Temple at least twice every day. Mornings and late evenings. Abnd each part of the day presents differing pictures inside and around the temple.

From about 6.30 p.m. onwards women devotees volunteered to clean the pathway leading from the east gopram across Sannidhi Street and the 16-pillared mantapam and then groups of them designed kolams and colourful rangolis.

Elsewhere, some women who hawk veggies at their stalls on South Mada Street, also gathered on the street and using a variety of veggies, topped their basic kolam design with these, making a lively, colourful vegetables rangoli.
