The ‘temporary MTC bus stop which functioned near Anna Vilas restaurant on R K Mutt Road has been shifted.
It is now located on Venkatesa Agraharam Street, outside Maha Beauty Parlour.
Since a few managers of shops on R K Mutt Road objected to CMRL plans to erect a shelter here, the shift was effected.
Now a crude notice board had been fixed at the old stop for commuters who are informed of the change.
MTC buses from Adyar side that cross through Mylapore on way north, make a stop here.
But some commuters say pushing the stop inside has made it less accessible.

More particularly Venkatesan agraharam rd, the road will look broader IF the encroachments are removed..On Thursdays it’s free for all.
With reference to shifting of bus stops, the authorities may consider changing of bus routes itself. The meandering at both the Mandavelli Market and South Mada street are difficult for the vehicles and more over as the routes cover interior lanes, which most of the times lead to traffic snarls. So an alternative route may be considered for buses plying from Mandavelli.
