Mylapore MLA , Dha Velu opened a water booth last weekend near the Chitrakulam in Mylapore, for the public.
He distributed cool drinks, fruits and water to people who needed it.
GCC has also set up water booths at busy street junctions.
GCC-run health centres offer hydral powder packs for those who may feel dehydrated; these are kept alongside water cans in these centres across Mylapore.
