An ugly road rage incident took place at the junction of Marina Loop Road in Pattinapakkam and Dr. D G S Dhinakaran Road on Friday, following which three men were detained by the police.
The driver of a car that was moving out of the Loop Road, found that a car ahead of his was moving in a zig-zag manner and suddenly stopping in front of his car, thus endangering him. When he questioned the driver of the car in front, the driver and two others got out and pulled out the other driver and beat him up after an argument.
Traffic police on the spot had to resolve this issue. Some say that the traffic police remained unmoved till passersby urged them to intervene.
One of the tree detained is said to be a policeman; the three are said to be been intoxicated.
