All EVMs used in booths for the Mylapore constituency have been safely kept inside sealed rooms at the counting centre for 5 constituencies in the city – at rooms in the College of Engg. (CEG), Guindy.
Some 400 odd policemen and women have been stationed here to secure the place.
At Queen Mary’s College, EVMs from polling cehtres in North Chennai have been stored and secured. The campus is a no go zone.
Counting takes place on May 4.
In Mylapore – 74.89% voting percentage was recorded – one of the lowest in city.
But the absolute votes cast is less than 2021.
– 3% decreased from 2021 polling. ( means – If 100 votes were cast in 2021, -3 means 97 were cast in 2026.
