The Resource Revival Drive held on Sunday, May 17, organised by Team EcoKonnectors with recycling partners Spreco was supported by the communities of R K Nagarra association, Mandaveli Raja Street RWA and Ragamalika Apartments was a success.
People brought their goods from as far as Velachery, Anna Nagar, Adyar and Teynampet to the collection points in R. A. Puram.
People in and around Mylapore, Mandaveli, R A Puram and Abhiramapuram also dumped stuff that can be reycled.
Since it was vacation time, teens also participated in the drive to help declutter.
All the resources collected at the drive have been sent to the Spreco recycling center where they will be revived.
Three truck loads of resources were saved from ending into the landfills, said a volunteer.
