Carnatica and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha present “Pallavi Darbar”, showcasing unique pallavis in Carnatic music. The 16th edition of Pallavi Darbar is from June 12 – 16 at the Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Luz. It is open to all.
This year the title “Pallavi Chakravarthy” is being conferred on Dr. Pantula Rama, for her exceptional mastery of Rāgam–Tānam–Pallavi, her creative contributions to Carnatic music, and her dedicated efforts in propagating this art form globally as a mentor and guru for over four decades.
The inaugural day of the festival features Ramana Balachandhran – veena @ 6.15pm
The finale will feature Violin maestro Nagai R. Muralidharan, Badrinarayanan – violin support, Thiruvarur Bhakthavathsalam – mridangam, K.V. Gopalakrishnan – khanjira on June 16 @ 7pm.
The event also features concerts by leading artists such as Kunnakudi M. Balamuralikrishna, Suryaprakash,Delhi P. Sunder Rajan, Dr. K. Gayatri, K. Bharat Sundar, Amrutha Venkatesh, K. S. Vishnudev, Jayashri Vaidyanathan.
The festival also features young stars Anahita Ravindran & Apoorva Ravindran, V. Deepika & V. Nandika, Spoorthi Rao, S. Swarathmika, Shruthi Shankar Kumar, Sruthi Ravali (Manda), Anirudh Subramaniam and others.
There will be a Pallavi special lec-dem by Dr. Pantula Rama – A synthesis of structural frame works (Kalpitham) and improvisational freedom (Manodharmam).
A special Pallavi Jam – on the spot Pallavi potpourri will feature Pathangi Brothers (Dathre & Dhruv), C. Charulatha on veena, V. S. P. Gayatri Sivani on violin.
