A small section of the road at the Thiruvengadam Street and Venaktakrishna Road junction caved in on Tuesday and affected traffic flow at this busy junction.
Metrowater officials of the area were alerted and its team of workers fenced the area, brought in materials required to address the problem and began work. The area has been stabilised using metal girders/plates.
Similar cave-ins have taken place in recent past on R K Mutt Road, near Sri Kumaran store, off the R K Math Dispensary and near the Mandaveli Street junction as well as on St Marys Road near this junction.
