For the past few days, youngsters of Dooming Kuppam have been working together to keep their colony clean.
This Kuppam is a colony off Loop Road in Marina that has more than 500 families. Mostly painters, carpenters and daily wage workers reside here in tightly packed houses.
Says Poul Raj, a resident, “Once in two days, we clean all the inner streets throughly. We also prepare turmeric and neem water and sprinkle it across our colony.”
He says, “Some of us youngsters who are employed in IT companies have also pooled money and distributed masks for the poor families in our area.”
