‘Kili-mookku’ mangoes; what is your favourite recipe?

KILIMUKKU-MANGA-1After the flood of vadumanga into the hawkers’ stalls on South Mada Street, Mylapore the ‘kili -mookku’ mangoes are now on sale and in good numbers too.

Shoppers who enjoy eating raw mangoes seem to prefer them.

  1. Traditional Mangoe pachadi can be prepared by using kili-mookku mangoes. It will go with Sambar sadam. Khatta Meeta and tasty. Cut the mangoe in to pieces. Boil them. When cooked add jaggary and little salt . For finishing put oil in a thava add mustard, red chillies, and asafoetida powder little. This is a must for Tamil new year in everyones kitchen,
