Forty trainees at V-Excel Educational Trust’s Centre in the neighbourhood visited the Mylapore MLA’s office in Alwarpet and exchanged pleasantries to mark World Autism Day on April 2.
While the young people pinned a blue ribbon on the MLA’s shirt to mark solidarity, the MLA offered snacks to the guests who came from V-Excel’s units in Mylapore and in Adyar.
Later, following advice of the MLA, the team also visited the city police commissioner and gifted him stuff the young people learn to make and produce at the vocational unit. The team also asked the police to be sensitive to people with disabilities.
